Kaku-Obi / 角帯

貝の口結び
"clam's mouth"
Perhaps the most common musubi for men, suitable for any outfit from yukata to kuromontsuki ensemble. Resembles a flat knot. Also worn by elderly women as a casual musubi.

平結び
"flat knot"
Drive a car, travel, beauty salon, housework not collapse even if the hanging chair, etc., is popular!
Because there is no thickness, even tighten the bottom of the hakama, it is good ....

浪人結び
Ronin (masterless samurai) musubi falls in the same "family" as the Kata-basami and Kai no Kuchi musubi. This knot is a little bit dificult to make but a very nice variation.
Sometimes confused with Kata-basami.

様々な閣帯結び
Kaku obi knots for men found on the web with little information on how they are created. Probably one time inventions of kimono wearers which makes it refreshing.

"Butterfly knot"
The most basic and well known obi knot, an "effortless knot" (手っ取り早く結び). It is the knot that has been widely known from children to adults. Tie by mainly using the waistband, but the atmosphere of the finish will change depending on the material and the length of the band.
The most comfortable and suitable knot for an heko-obi.

Makibasami
巻き挟み
"winding between"
Famously used by bosses, such as in the gangster movies, since only hold the both ends are wrapped around the waist, it is not a knot about the dare described, such as the total stop of the waistband has this wound scissors suitable. The ends can be tucked in or left out.

Sarashi Kaze
サラシ風
"Wind style"
A method which results in a wide wrap which looks quite nice.
